Bosence provides residential rehabilitation in Cornwall for those recovering from alcohol / drug dependence and is registered with the Care Quality Commission.
We offer a 12 Step, total abstinence, approach to recovery. This is provided within a safe, stable and tranquil setting with single bedrooms in a converted farmhouse. We have extensive grounds, gardens and woods. We offer a specialist Dual Diagnosis Service for those with substance misuse and mental health problems. Relaxation, meditation and yoga are on offer in our dedicated space for spiritual, religious and cultural needs. We enjoy excellent links with local organisations offering a range of services such as volunteering opportunities, training and education and progress to work links.
Call us to discuss admission, and ask any questions you may have. Funding will be needed for most people to stay at Bosence. Please contact your Support Worker or us to find out about funding. Once an application has been received by Bosence staff, and eligibility has been established, a full assessment will be carried out. We have a number of ways in which we can conduct this assessment including on site, by telephone or by video conferencing.
This assessment will enable us to access your needs and begin to develop your care and treatment plan. The length of time the referral process will take depends on how quickly we can get all the information that we need to make a decision about offering a place. We will keep you and your worker informed about the progress of your application.
Where there are more applicants who meet the eligibility criteria than there are vacancies the priority will be the earliest date of application.
What is on offer?
Bosence uses a practical 12 Step model of recovery from addiction that supports service users in addressing behaviour and attitudes that have formed part of their lifestyle in addiction. We support people to address a wide range of life, health and social skills, all aimed at increasing their capacity to live independent lives free from drug or alcohol dependence. We provide guidance and support on resettlement issues, life skills workshops and up to 6 months of aftercare. We offer Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning (EAP) as an addition to our core programme.
Staffing and support
There is 24 hour cover by qualified staff experienced in the 12 Step Recovery Programme. Each resident has a named key worker. Residents attend local groups of AA and NA during their stay. Primary healthcare is provided by our local GP. This assessment will enable us to access your needs and begin to develop your care and treatment plan.
