We believe that we should provide the best possible environment for people to receive treatment, and the high specification new building has been designed specifically for the purpose of residential treatment for young people and families.
The building has been furnished with young people and families in mind – we have wherever possible made it homely and non-institutional and involved young people in the process.
The Service is adjacent to one of our other services and is connected to it by a reception area but care has been taken to ensure the building is secure.
The Service is fully disability accessible and is on one floor throughout.
The main communal area is open plan and has comfortable seating sufficient for all service users. A television is installed in this area for use out of programme times. This area is also utilised for dining during meal times, and for groups and activities when they involve all service users.
Bedrooms are located off the main communal area. There are a total of 4 bedrooms of which 1 is disability accessible. 1 bedroom has been designed to be anti – ligature. Each room has a maximum occupancy of 2, but will only be shared when the service user is happy to share 2 single beds
There are 2 shared bathrooms of which 1 is disability accessible.
There is a fully equipped domestic style kitchen which has a breakfast bar opening to the main communal area. Catering is a combination of meals cooked by our chef and some meals planned, shopped for and cooked by the service users.
There is a room that can be used for a variety of purposes including groups, individual 1-1 work and activities. A computer is available for use by service users.
There is a room where medication is stored and administered from. Doctors or nurses may also conduct consultations and examinations in this room.
There is a room for staff to work with an area for handovers and meetings.
There is an area at the front of the building for sitting out as well as a private secure garden area to the rear of the building.
We are holding two open days on 17th February from 1.00 to 3.00pm and 3rd March from 1.00 to 4.00pm. Do contact us if you would like to visit
